18 STYLISH PERM HAIR LOOKS TO ROCK IN 2020
Curly hair is having a moment. From waves to ringlets, women everywhere are embracing styles that give their locks more movement, texture, volume, and bounce. Straight haired ladies looking for a significant change should consider a perm, which will make their curly dreams come true without the need for daily heat styling. Meanwhile, naturally curly textures can also benefit from the curl-enhancing and smoothening powers of a perm.
1. Curly Hair Perm
A perm can enhance your natural curl pattern, making it more consistent or defined. Alternatively, those with natural curls can change to a looser style, like beachy waves, with a perm. It’s all about the technique your stylist uses to create your new hair texture.
2. Wavy Hair Perm
Like straight hair, wavy hair responds well to perming. Depending on the type of material your stylist uses to set the curls, you can go from mermaid waves to ringlets, finger waves, or spiral coils. A perm will give you a more defined look and completely refresh your hairstyle.
3. Long Hair Perm
Perms suit hair of all lengths, so if you’ve always wanted to have a mane of cascading curls, your dream can come true. Lengthy locks look fantastic with both tighter curls and looser waves, or a very natural mixed perm. However, bear in mind that the perm process can take several hours on very long, thick hair.
4. Short Hair Perm
Short hair looks fantastic with a perm. However, because there’s less hair to work with, your stylist will need to use smaller rods to set the curls – meaning you’ll get more of a ringlet-style look. The result is a cute mop of retro-style curls with a youthful and free-spirited finish.
5. Shoulder Length Hair Perm
Shoulder length hair suits almost every style, including curls. If you want to change up your length as well as your hair’s texture, a perm could be the answer. The curling process will make your hair look shorter than it is without needing a cut. Plus, curly hair looks thicker and has more volume than straight hair.
6. Medium Hair Perm
For women who love the fashion of the ’70s, a medium hair perm complements the style perfectly. Take your cues from Penny Lane in Almost Famous and opt for softer curls with plenty of texture. You’ll end up with a mane that looks effortlessly cool, wild, and free.
7. Perm for Fine Hair
Spiral perms and beach waves are the best options for fine hair as they immediately add volume. The decision depends on the final result you want to achieve. While beach waves look more casual and effortless and won’t change the length of your hair too much, a spiral perm will give you defined, bouncy curls and make your hair look a lot shorter.
8. Black Hair Perm
Black hair can be permed to make the curls looser or change the natural curl pattern. You can also get a straight hair perm if you have natural Afro-textured hair and want super straight results – similar to those achieved with a relaxer. Like all chemical processes, however, a perm will cause some damage. Use deep conditioning treatments and keep your hair moisturized to avoid breakage.
9. Bleached Permed Hair
Curly blonde locks are a stunning look, but your hair transformation won’t be overnight. That’s because perming and bleaching are chemical processes, and both will damage your hair to an extent. As a result, it’s recommended that you space the treatments several weeks or months apart to avoid breakage. Some salons will also apply a bond restoring treatment, like Olaplex, before and after the bleaching to ensure your hair stays as healthy as possible.
10. Asian Hair Perm
Because the Asian hair type tends to be straighter, thicker, and stronger than Caucasian hair, new perming processes were developed to give more effective results. The hot perm – also known as a ‘digital perm’ – is an enduringly popular option. The technique uses a heat tool to seal in the curly style, which looks softer and more natural than a traditional perm.
11. Spiral Perm for Long Hair
A spiral perm gives your hair a retro, defined, corkscrew curl. It instantly adds volume to fine hair and makes your locks look thicker. While the original version was popular in the ’80s, today’s take has a more natural finish. To give your spiral perm a modern twist, brush out the curls instead of leaving them intact.
12. Loose Waves Perm Long Hair
For most women, loose waves are the perfect hairstyle. Flattering and feminine, it’s a soft and low-maintenance style that also makes hair look thicker. Instead of daily heat styling, those with naturally long and straight hair should consider a loose wave perm. The result will look natural and effortless and save you time.
13. Beach Wave Perm for Short Hair
A lob cut with beachy waves is a timelessly chic hairstyle, and it’s ideal if your hair is on the finer side. Short, curly hair appears thicker and has more body and movement than long, straight hair. Curls also make you look younger and can help balance out a thinner face. A beach wave perm will give you beautiful results that last for months instead of hours.
14. Beach Wave Perm for Medium Hair
Find yourself reaching for your curling tongs every day? A beach wave perm will give you ocean-ready locks all summer long, with no heat-styling required. Soft and natural, the beach wave perm looks effortless and sexy on medium hair. It will provide straight hair much-needed body and texture or give some structure to messy and uneven curls.
15. Hairstyle for Short Permed Black Hair
Perming is one of the methods of changing the curl pattern of Afro-textured hair. One option for short black hair is a soft curly bob. Effortlessly glamorous and flattering, you’ll still retain all the bounce and movement of your natural hair. Add a subtle side parting or bangs for an even more stunning finish.
16. Hairstyle for Medium Permed Black Hair
Because a perm loosens tight and kinky natural curls, your hair will be longer. That, in turn, gives you a variety of new styling options. One of the most beautiful styles for medium permed black hair is a messy bun. Leave some front pieces free to help frame your face and keep the look soft, pretty, and casual.
17. Hairstyle for Long Permed Black Hair
Long permed black hair has a multitude of styling options, but why not show off your fresh curls by wearing them loose? It’s an effortlessly cool and beautiful style that makes the most of your hair’s length. For a subtle change, try parting your hair differently, too.
18. Straight Hair Perm
Perms aren’t just for turning straight hair curly – the treatment also works the other way. Because the chemicals in a perm alter the structure of your hair, it can also make it straight. This type of perm uses different chemicals to a relaxer but is still suitable for Afro-textured hair, unlike other processes like Japanese Straightening.
This Is How To Prevent Sweating Right After a Shower
Photo: Stocksy/Guille Faingold
In the summer months, your spend a lot of time in the shower between trips to the beach, workouts in the heat, and getting dirty from repotting all your plants. But all that showering can feel like a waste of time when the second you step foot on your fluffy bat mat, you experience the post-shower sweats and question why you even took the time to shower in the first place.
Sweating after a shower is super common. Unlike the winter months when the air is cold and dry, the air in your home is likely a lot more humid, especially in the bathroom. That—combined with a higher body temperature due to the hot water on your skin and hair—can leave you feeling hot, sticky, and sweaty post-shower. Luckily, there’s a dermatologist-approved way to shower that will leave you feeling fresh… not ready to jump back in the shower for round two.
When you’re nearing the end of your shower, Annie Gonzalez, MD, board-certified dermatologist at Riverchase Dermatology in Miami, says the key is gradually lowering the water temperature from hot to warm in an attempt to cool your body. “It takes roughly 10 seconds for our bodies to acclimate to new temperatures, so do this in 10-second increments,” she says. “Also, try rinsing your hair with cooler water so that hot water isn’t left on the scalp, which can heat up your head.”
The way you wash your face matters, too. “You don’t want to wash your face with hot water either, as it strips the skin of natural oils and draws out moisture. The best temperature to wash your face with is lukewarm water—not too hot and not too cold,” she says, which helps prevent sweatiness and the beet-red look post-shower. By simply switching up the water temperature and making these changes, your body temperature will be cooler once you’re done showering.
Aside from cooling down the water temp in order to help keep you from sweating after a shower, Dr. Gonzalez says it’s also helpful to keep your bathroom as well-ventilated as possible. But whether you have vents or windows for proper ventilation or not, you can always make a run for it. “After you finish showering, get out of that humid environment as soon as you can,” she says. “If you need to stay in the bathroom, soak a washcloth in cold water and apply it to your face and scalp. This should help you cool off, too.”
While it’s nearly impossible to prevent sweating your butt off in the summertime, these tips will at least ensure you stay feeling fresh and clean after washing off.

6 Tips for Keeping Love Alive From the World’s Oldest Married Couple
I don’t know if you have divorced friends. Divorce is also common in the news. Many people have a question, is there still a long-term relationship in this era? If so, how do we maintain a marriage?
The most recent garbage news cycle has surfaced just such a rare, heartwarming gem: Julio Cesar Mora Tapia and Waldramina Maclovia Quinteros Reyes earned the Guinness World Record title of “world’s oldest married couple.”
Julio is an astounding 110 years old while his wife, Waldramina, is a mere almost-105 years young. Both retired teachers, they were born in the time before social media, if you can believe it. In fact, he was born before the first crossword puzzle was invented, and she before income tax existed.
The two centenarians were married in 1941 in Quito, Ecuador. Despite protest from both their families, who didn’t approve on their union, they’ve been married for 79 years. How does one tolerate another for eight long decades? In an effort to find out, I scoured their story for clues. Below, a few tips I’ve gathered for making your love outlast the entire lifespans of your exes, courtesy of these two earnestly inspiring crazy kids.
How to make a marriage last for decades, according to the world’s oldest married couple
1. A solid friendship is the best foundation for long-lasting romance
Waldramina and Julio formed a friendship first, which spanned seven years before they tied the knot. This is not a strategy that worked for me, but it is the entire premise of Definitely, Maybe, the best romcom of all time. Being friends adds a layer of authenticity into a relationship that prevents you from being blindsided by your partner’s shortcomings post-nuptials or, put another way (by my ex-best friend, for example), marrying me.
2. Ignoring the opinions of others is sometimes your best bet
Relatives of the couple did not support the marriage, to the extent that they were married in secret. And while it may be advisable to take negative opinions about your significant other under advisement, especially if they are ubiquitous among your friends and family, ultimately only you know who’s right for you. I can’t stand my best friend’s husband, but she’s never been happier—so who cares what I think?
3. Enjoying one another’s company is important
One of the couple’s daughters says the two like spending time together, and while this seems like a fairly obvious must-have in relationships, if you’ve ever surveyed the scene at a restaurant on date night, you know it’s not always a given. And if you consider that all your friends will be dead if you manage to emulate this couple’s longevity, this becomes an even more pressing concern. (Counterpoint: TV.)
4. Maturity is key
In an interview, the couple seems to mention maturity as being one of the cornerstones of their relationship’s success a lot. In fairness, though, they’ve each had literally over 100 years to grow up—so if you’re not there yet, keep trucking!
5. Respect is non-negotiable
Another defining characteristic of their relationship, according to pair, is none other than r-e-s-p-e-c-t. So, find you someone who looks at you the way Melania looks at her husband. Just kidding, LOL, opposite.
6. Poetry helps
Waldramina apparently fell in love with Julio thanks to his poetry, which is understandable but also not a real thing anymore. (In all seriousness, though, The Collected Poems of Frank O’Hara isn’t a bad place to start.)

How To Make Friends in a Digital?
Consider this a friendly reminder that if your social calendar is straight-up blank right now, you are not, by any means, alone. We are living through a pandemic that has led to canceled events, vacations, dates, and even going into an office—basically, all the reasons to experience human contact. You might feel, especially if you’ve moved during said pandemic, lonely and unsure what to do about your desire to connect. After all, it’s hard enough making friends as an adult, but nobody teaches you how to make friends during quarantine.
Well, until now, that is. Marisa G. Franco, PhD, psychologist and friendship expert, is here to explain the factors that form friendships and how to parlay them into the current pandemic landscape. Consider it your quick guide on how to make friends during quarantine…and, later, in a world where brunch can be enjoyed without face masks and the lingering aura of doom. Cheers!
The 3 factors that explain how to make friends during quarantine (or any other time).
1. Superficial similarity
In this sense, “superficial” points to the easy, surface level connections you might share with someone. Similar demographic backgrounds, similar clothing, similar ages—all of these are signifiers that this person could be a viable companion to you. On the flip side, “disregard criteria” is an unconscious bias we all have that discounts others who don’t share outward commonalities (again, someone of a different age range, different gender, whatever it may be). So, just because you don’t share the superficial similarity of age with someone doesn’t mean they can’t or shouldn’t be a viable friend to you (in fact, the opposite may be true).
“The more similar we are to people, the more we feel understood, the more we feel ‘gotten’. So similarity tends to be a significant glue.” —Marisa G. Franco, PhD, friendship expert
2. Proximity
This is a little tricky, right now, because it depends on your state’s current social-distancing guidelines. But in my local New York City, for example, I feel comfortable and compliant eating outside and being socially distant with friends in parks. So, I’ve been seeing friends in my neighborhood relatively often.
3. Chemistry
“There’s also an ineffable spark or chemistry that you might feel with someone that’s kind of hard to define. But the research does find that after a first interaction, people can sort of predict who they’ll become friends with and who they won’t, and, to an extent, that that’s a self-fulfilling prophecy,” says Dr. Franco. “There’s a bit of, ‘I just feel comfortable around you’ or ‘I feel like I can be myself around you’ off the bat that drives people together.”
Here’s how to make friends during quarantine, according to a friendship expert.
1. Wake up your sleepy friendships
The first thing Dr. Franco advises when you’re thinking about how to make friends is to wake up your “sleepy friendships” and try to reconnect with people from your past.
“When we are reconnecting with people, we already have a degree of trust, a trust that sort of catapults our friendships forward compared to someone that we’re just meeting,” says Dr. Franco. “So I think a lot of people have been doing this. It’s a really excellent time to just be like, ‘who have I fallen out of touch with that I wish I didn’t?'”
And you can tread carefully—if there’s someone you had a big fight with or some sort of catastrophic friend breakup, that might be a relationship to keep shelved during this stressful time. But many friendships end simply because people fall out of touch or get busy. Reviving them might be a little bit easier than starting fresh with someone new.
“I think it can be a really good idea to thumb through your phone and go through all your text messages—the texts you sent a year ago—and see who you were texting then,” says Dr. Franco. “See if there’s anybody that you really want to reconnect with.”
2. Promote people up from “acquaintance” status
“Consider people in your network that are maybe already acquaintances, and see how you can turn them into friends,” says Dr. Franco. “Who’s someone at work that maybe you’ve always wanted to go out to coffee with, but haven’t gotten a chance to get to know? Be very intentional about initiating with people in your network.”
You can wait this out indefinitely and see if someone reaches out to you, or you can just, for example, message that cool chick in the design department over Slack. Initiation, Dr. Franco stresses, is really important when it comes to making this happen.
“People assume, when it comes to friendship, [that] it happens organically,” Dr. Franco says. “But what the research finds is that the more you think friendship happens organically, the more lonely you’re going to end up being. So what I really suggest is to make an effort and take a lot of initiative [with] people that are in your network already.”
3. Join a recurring, digital group
If you’ve exhausted all your options and are really finding yourself in a sort of friendship desert, sign yourself up for some kind of virtual club or recurring meetings. Social-justice clubs, book clubs, anything.
“In order to be strategic about it, you want to think about joining something virtual that’s continuous,” says Dr. Franco. “And the reason is because there’s this effect called the mere exposure effect, which is basically that the more we are exposed to people, the more we like them. So, I always say, don’t go to a single happy hour with people, or don’t go to a one-off event—join something that’s more continuous, so that you connect with people.”

What are the classic vintage gloves?
Sometimes wearing a dress always feels a little less? Especially when attending dinner parties, always feel that it is not eye-catching enough. It may be due to a lack of accessories. Why don't you read this article about vintage gloves and maybe solve your problem?
-Wrist length gloves (also known as "shorties")
The shortest style of glove, these hit at or slightly above the wrist bone and are very versatile.
-Gauntlet gloves
Characterized by a turn-up or cuff (be it subtle or dramatic) that often points outward (much like the sleeve styles on some 1950s dresses), gauntlet gloves often came part way up the forearm, though they could be wrist length as well. They were a popular style and remain a dramatic, beautiful way to add a stylish dose of mid-century pizzazz to any ensemble.
-Classic, bracelet or coat length gloves
Different names for the glove length that commonly measures in the range of 13 to 14 inches long and hit at the mid-way point, or a little above it, on the forearm. A very flattering and versatile length, this style was commonly seen in ruched gloves, which offered the wearer the ability to length or shorten her gloves by stretching or bunching the fabric (to a degree) to suit her sleeve length.
-Elbow length gloves
As their name suggests, this length of glove hits at, just below, or slightly above the wearer's elbow (as in the case of the sheer black pair on the right in the ad pictured below). They are usually the most dramatic length of glove seen during daytime wear in the mid-twentieth century and were often sported come evening time, especially in settings where opera length gloves may have been a touch too formal or impractical.
-Evening or opera gloves
Generally a more formal style of glove that hits above the elbow (and in extreme cases can reach all the way up to the underarms). During the Victorian era and early twentieth century, in particular, they often featured rows of small buttons (as did many gloves of all lengths in general), which could be fastened by hand or via the use of a specialized tool called a glove hook.
-Mousquetaire gloves
An old-fashioned style of formal evening gloves dating back to at least the sixteenth century that have a small number (often three) buttons at the wrist so that a lady can slide her hand out of them when needed, such as for eating, but have the rest of the glove remain in place (she then slides her hand back in, without needing to take her gloves on and off entirely to do so, once she’s done eating, smoking, etc).
-Other, less common styles of gloves include entirely fingerless styles that loop around one finger
(often the middle finger or between the thumb and first finger, as in the marvelous crochet pair pictured below) with a small band of fabric and those with the fingertips removed but base of the fingers still intact. Generally speaking, unless your personal style veers towards the dramatic, goth, steampunk or Victorian side of things, you won't frequently wear such styles of gloves and may not need to own them at all (though they are fun to have all the same, especially for dramatic ensembles and costume parties).

Little Birds Actress Juno Temple on growing up on film, erotica and Brexit
Juno Temple is speaking from her boyfriend’s house in LA, during lockdown. She’s sleep-deprived, having just moved house and is struggling to stay awake. You really wouldn’t know. The BAFTA-winning actress (you’ll recognise her from projects like Atonement, Maleficent and Dirty John) is upbeat and animated, having just put the finishing touches to a set of necklaces handcrafted for her girlfriends in lockdown (she wanted to study fashion before Hollywood beckoned). “It focuses my brain on something because I’ve got a brain that can be quite hard to manage,” she explains of the jewellery-making. Her latest project, Little Birds (out next month) sees her play American debutante Lucy Savage. Here, she explains what drew her to it…
You’ve been acting since you were 11. Is it strange seeing yourself grow up on film?
I don’t really watch the films. I do if they’re in a film festival or at premiere where I get asked by the director to watch a cut. But I sometimes get texts from friends in different places, like they’re in a hotel like, ‘Whoa, look who I’m watching on the TV!’. And I’m like, ‘Wow, that was a long time ago’. It’s funny, because I guess I could do that. I could totally see myself from age 16 to now in stuff, but I feel more aware of it in just life. I remember a moment in my mid-twenties, like, ‘Oh, I’m not in high school anymore’ and I grew up a bit. It was great because I’d stayed in school for a really long time on camera, always playing characters that were supposed to be in school.
Are you relieved that’s not the case now?
That was kind of a good moment. It’s an interesting thing because I turned 30 last year and panicked. Not in the sense that it made me feel old, I just think it feels like a grown up. You’ve got some wisdom and faith in who you are and you’ve learned lessons because you’re 30, you know? And I thought ‘Oh my god what’s going to happen?’ because people always say, ‘Oh, you look so young!’. But I can’t play 22 anymore. I don’t have the brain of a 22-year-old anymore. There’s a freshness to being 22 and I don’t know if you can fake it – it’s in people’s smile and their eyes.
Your character Lucy in Little Birds is brilliant and the whole project – from the costumes to locations – is beautiful. How did it come about?
I was attached to it for about two years before we made it. I was a big Anais Nin’s fan, I’d already I read a lot of her stuff already. Little Birds was actually the first thing that I’d read of hers when I was 17. I read it on a plane flying from London to LA and I remember feeling this overwhelming sense of sexuality, like, ‘Oh wow’.
What appealed to you about the show?
I read the scripts and was like ‘this is a cool opportunity’ because obviously it’s not Little Birds, it’s very much inspired by Anais Nin’s writing of Little Birds. There are snippets of the stories but it’s about two women who are oppressed in their own way and need to learn how to express who they are. You’ve got a different time period where women were treated in such a different way. Even the way they were wrapped into their clothing and how they had to use their voices and hand gestures. Especially for my character coming from a rich family in New York. It was such a specific way of existing where you’re acting while you’re acting, you know?
That’s an interesting way of looking at it.
It’s because you’re not just playing a different person, you’re playing a person who is constantly having to put on the perfect front of being perfect. Even when I was auditioning for it, you could feel that frustration of wanting to scream with it sometimes! It’s so different now to how it was in the 1950s where women were expected to be seen and not heard. I think Anais Nin’s erotica is really important to read because it’s real erotica. It’s not just about being beautiful and sexy, and that’s fantastic. I think it’s a brilliant thing to learn about and understand about oneself, too.
Throughout the show we’re made aware of the caged bird analogy and characters wanting to be ‘set free’. Can you draw parallels between that and fame, do you think?
To be honest with you I don’t really exist in a way I feel that fame is problem for me. I feel like a caged bird sometimes in my own brain. I think fame is a complicated one in today’s society because especially in LA, people sometimes stop me like ‘Hey, how do I know you? Did we go to school together? Oh, wait, are you in a movie?’. That happens sometimes but it’s never something I’ve been in interested in. I think it’s an amazing thing for an actress when nobody ever really knows why they know you. I hope it’s because I can disappear into parts well enough, but it might be because I’ve done a lot of independent films not many people have seen!
You’ve played such a range of parts it must take a minute for people to place you?
I think so too. I played some parts that are similar too. But I like that because it means I didn’t perfect them the first time around, so I needed to do it better! With Lucy and the cage stuff I feel that within my own self sometimes, more than my external existence on the planet. At home, I’m very creative and like to make things all the time. I make jewellery and draw, write poetry, listen to music and dance in my living room. I’m not great at going out.
As a creative person, the Little Birds set must have been exciting?
I thought it was the most beautiful lighting and set I’d ever walked into, I was dumbfounded. We shot all the exterior stuff in a part of Spain called Tarifa which is right on the edge of the coast. You could almost skip a pebble to Africa. There’s an episode where Lucy is in a surreal film by Lili Von X and we shot it in this beautiful old castle space in Spain. It was so close to Africa we were literally feeling the African wind. I remember thinking ‘this is the coolest thing I’ve ever been part of, I’m literally in two places at once’. I was covered in glitter and silver paint, like ‘This is my dream, I could die happy now’.
Lucy’s costumes are incredible.
I like how we see her change when she’s in New York and first in Tangier to when she learns more about life. One thing I love are the minor details – my character’s hoop earrings get bigger throughout the show, for example. So I was like, ‘Yes! She’s got her big hoops on, she’s feeling free!’. A young Brigitte Bardot was a big reference for me and and she had big hoop earrings on, which you wouldn’t think of in the 50s. I thought it was quite progressive.
How are you at watching yourself back?
I find it quite difficult. I can be very critical of my performance like, ‘Oh god, I wish I made that choice differently’. Or sometimes I’m just critical like a girl, about the way I look, you know? I think that’s the hard thing about being an actress in a world where we’re pumped with what’s supposed to be ‘perfection’. It can be a bit of a head fuck. Watching this is one of the first times in a long time I’ve watched something and really have forgotten it was me in it, because there was so much going on. And Jacquetta [Levon, head of hair and makeup] transported us so we truly look like we are in a different time. All my co-stars are so mesmerising.
What’s your dream role – are there any parts you’d love to play?
One of my favourite writers is a writer called Eve Babitz. If you don’t know her, start with her collection of short stories, Slow Days Fast Company. It’s all about when she was living in Los Angeles. I love the way she writes but I couldn’t actually play her because I don’t really look like her. She’s very tall – I’m scraping five foot three.
Do you miss the UK?
I miss the people. Last year, I shot a TV thing in London for five months and it was an interesting place to be with Brexit going on. I think it’s the worst thing that could ever happen to England – I was really proud of being European. Being English is something that feels a bit alien to me and I felt a kind of heavy sadness in the UK at the end of last year. I actually did the anti-Brexit March in London on my own, kind of by accident as my American agent was in town and the taxi dropped me off and said ‘I don’t know I can get you much closer’. It was right by Hyde Park and I was 45 minutes late for my new agent, but he understood. It felt like a really great thing to be part of.
Little Birds airs on 4th August on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV

6 Summer Makeup Trends
Summer 2020 Makeup Trend: Soft, Fluffy Eyebrows
Let’s hear it for this summer’s eyebrow trend. Gone are the days of meticulously plucking stray hairs or spending precious time drawing on perfectly sculpted arches. “A lot of people are letting their brows grow out during this time,” celebrity makeup artist Shannon Pezzetta told POPSUGAR. “Just get some brow gel, instead of trying to fill them in.”
Summer 2020 Makeup Trend: Dewy, Pink Cheeks
Summer’s “It” product: cream blush. Move your powdered formulas to the back of your makeup vanity, and make room for dewy, cream, or gel-like textures. Pezzetta said blush is the easiest way to add a flush of color to your complexion, even if it’s just for a walk around the block.
Summer 2020 Makeup Trend: Fox Eyes
You know that fox-eye trend that’s all over Instagram? Yeah, it’s not going anywhere anytime soon, according to celebrity and editorial makeup artist Katie Jane Hughes. We have celebrities like Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner, as well as TikTok, to thank for this one.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with the buzzy trend, it entails shaving off the outer end of the eyebrow and drawing it back on at a straighter angle toward the temple to create the illusion of “fox-like” eyes.
Summer 2020 Makeup Trend: Colored Mascara
Trade your traditional black and brown formulas for a fun, bright color of mascara this summer. Nothing makes your eyes pop like a coat of blue or pastel on your eyelashes. Pezzetta said this is a quick and easy way to add color to your look without breaking out the eye shadow or liner.
Summer 2020 Makeup Trend:
Bold, Single-Colored Eye Shadow
Are you sensing a theme here? The makeup this summer is all about getting the most out of the fewest number of products. Hughes predicted, “Bold pops of color on the eye with one single color on the lids.” Get high-color payoff by swiping on a powder eye-shadow formula with your finger tip or opting for a creamy liquid eye shadow for a saturated color.
Summer 2020 Makeup Trend: Bright Eyeliner
If you’re up for the challenge, give bright eyeliner a try. (Now is the time to practice, right?) Pezzetta said blue eyeliner paired with minimal makeup brings all of the attention to the eyes.
What women used to wear in the 1940s?
The key looks from the most decadent decade
We may be a little obsessed with all things 70s at the moment, but we’ll always have a soft spot for 40s fashion and how glamorous it was – we’re pretty sure the current trend for slip skirts and dresses is a indirect result of that in fact.
Despite the hardships of WWII, the 1940s were still a milestone decade for style, despite 1930s fashion being a hard act to follow. It was a decade of trailblazing styles and new silhouettes, and many of the styles we’re still supporting today. From Joan Crawford to Bette Davis, Rita Hayworth and Doris day, we chart the era’s style iconic, and top trends, that paved the way for 1950s fashion.
Christian Dior’s 1940s fashion
When it comes to 1940s fashion, Christian Dior’s groundbreaking new silhouette redefined women’s post-war style and revived France’s fashion industry after a difficult few years. The collection – featuring gorgeous full skirts and waist-cinching jackets – was Dior’s first and became forever known as the ‘New Look’, after Harper’s editor Carmel Snow said in 1947: ‘It’s such a new look!’ Imagine if every designer could knock together something like this for their debut?
Ava Gardner’s 1940s fashion
Ava Gardner was one of the decade’s most successful (and beautiful) actresses. Here she is in 1944, showcasing the beauty of a belted waist and a chic neckerchief; both of which were key 1940s fashion trends.
Bette Davis 1940s fashion
An original 1940s fashion pin-up, Bette Davis works a blue gown in this seductive shot, taken in 1943, perfectly paired with a full red lip.
Doris Day’s 1940s fashion
Doris Day shows us how to work the nautical trend during the filming of Romance On The High Seas in 1948. Remind us to drape our blazer over our shoulders on our next boat trip.
Rita Hayworth’s 1940s fashion
The actress embraces androgynous style in a pair of wide-legged trousers and monochrome flats in 1940. Our new workwear wardrobe = sorted.
Katharine Hepburn’s 1940s fashion
Katharine rocks a gingham dress and cinched-in waist on the set of The Philadelphia Story in 1940. Note the Peter Pan collar, a trend that was also a big 1960s fashion talking point and still resonates today. We all know Alexa Chung is a fan.
Joan Crawford’s 1940s fashion
Princess Grace of Monaco always looked flawlessly chic – even as a teen model back in 1947.
Grace Kelly’s 1940s fashion
Princess Grace of Monaco always looked flawlessly chic – even as a teen model back in 1947.
Ginger Rogers’ 1940s fashion
That wide-brimmed hat and elegant skirt suit made Ginger Rogers look effortlessly pulled-together in 1942 – hat brims were now much bigger than the cloche styles of 1920s fashion. And check out those leather driving gloves – if only we looked this good on our way to the airport.
Barbara Stanwyck’s 1940s fashion
Über-embellishment and major cocktail jewels made Barbara Stanwyck look like a total screen goddess in 1941, along with her perfectly curled ‘do.
Ingrid Bergman’s 1940s fashion
We’d wear those block-heeled sandals today. Check out the flawless Ingrid Bergman working a perfect capsule holiday in Casablanca.
Midi length skirts
These midi-length skirts couldn’t be more on trend, and these women in Paris demonstrate the timeless look perfectly. Have French women EVER been out of style?
Ann Sheridan in metallics
Ann works the metallics trend in this decadent high-neck gown. We could totally see this on the red carpet at Oscars.
Hedi Lamarr’s 1940s fashion
Actress Hedi rocks a huge floral corsage for Come Live With Me. So this is where Carrie Bradshaw got her inspiration from…
Lauren Bacall’s 1940s fashion
Lauren looks flawless in this thigh-split satin gown in 1944. We could totally see Angelina Jolie wearing this vintage wonder.
Barbara Stanwyck’s 1940s fashion
Barbara rocks a tailored pastel blue suit in 1940 with a few pops of leopard print to accessorise. Lovely.
Olivia de Havilland’s 1940s fashion
The crop top was a big look in the early forties, too. We adore Olivia’s impossibly glamorous jewels.
Small changes to make your diet
Dieting is something that many people have experienced, and many people still have doubts about dieting because there are too many ways of dieting. Dieting is supposed to let people with poor health adjust their physical condition, but many people use it to lose weight. Although some dieting methods are very effective, many dieting methods can not be adhered to in the long term. And dieting also requires a lot of willpower and discipline. These are unhealthy behaviors. If you want to lose weight, changing your lifestyle will make it easier for you to stay healthy forever, not just in the short term.
Change your lifestyle, not your diet
Diet basically means “food eaten by people or animals”, but we should not limit it. You don’t need to limit what kind of food you can’t eat. You just need to focus on changing your lifestyle. For example, don’t say that you don’t eat high-fat food because you are afraid of fat. You should change your mind. For example, you want to reduce the consumption of high-fat food because too much fat content is not good for our body.
Don’t use artificial sweeteners as a substitute
Many people think that artificial sweeteners are “healthy” sugars because of their low calorie content, but artificial sweeteners actually have a negative impact on our intestinal health and metabolism. Doctors suggest that we should avoid eating chemicals such as saccharin, aspartame and acesulfame, which can be found in common artificial sweeteners such as Splenda and equal. Artificial sweeteners are actually much sweeter than natural sugars and can make you lose your sense of sweetness.
Learn to listen to your body
This is a hint that many people find hard to follow, because it takes time to exercise to understand what kind of appetite your body has, or what kind of food your body needs. If you always want to eat sweet food, there must be a reason behind it. You can try to write down how you feel after eating different foods, such as how it affects your energy, mood, appetite, etc.
Don’t follow fad diets
When it comes to healthy eating, there are some general principles that we know we must follow, such as eating more natural food than processed food. But many diets include unrealistic principles, such as not eating fatty foods at all or avoiding high carbohydrate foods. Each of us has a different body, so the principles that work for others may not work for you. Don’t limit your diet too much. The most important thing is to follow your body’s needs.
Learn to enjoy your food
Many people who go on a diet eat only plain and tasteless food, because it is healthy for them. Dining is something you can enjoy, not to punish yourself. If you listen to your body and eat what you like, it’s easier to maintain a healthy lifestyle. That doesn’t mean you should eat junk food every day, which is also unhealthy. If you don’t limit what you eat, you’ll realize that you don’t have an appetite for junk food.
Don’t be afraid to eat fats
A lot of people think that eating fat means they’ll also increase fat, which actually depends on the kind of fat you eat. Oil in fried foods is certainly bad for our health, and healthy fats in fish, nuts and avocados are all important parts of our diet. These fats provide you with a lot of healthy nutrition, and eating the right amount of fat can also help you lose weight!
Reduce your sugar intake
This is something many people find difficult to do because most of us drool when we want dessert. But the processed sugar is a mixture of glucose and fructose, which is not good for our body. Low fat or low sugar foods sold in the market also contain high levels of sweeteners, which are not good for our health, but have a negative impact. On the contrary, when you want something sweet, give yourself something with natural sugar, such as fruit.
Reduce your stress levels
Our weight is not only affected by diet and exercise, but also by our stress levels. Stress increases your cortisol level, makes you feel sluggish and lazy, and it actually keeps fat in your body. It’s important to let yourself relax every day. For example, take time to calm yourself down, do what you like, and make sure you get enough sleep.
Stop counting calories
Counting calories is a great way to lose weight, but it only works in the short term. Counting calories won’t help you maintain a healthy weight. In addition, many calorie counting people ignore the nutrients in food, such as protein and fat. The key is to learn to understand your body and make yourself aware of how your body feels. If you are hungry, eat and stop when you are full.
Let’s not be unhappy about obesity, and live a healthy and scientific life.
Does makeup hurt your skin?
Does makeup hurt your skin? Many people say that makeup is not good for the skin, in fact, cosmetics on the skin is not so harmful, as long as makeup after doing a good job of removing makeup cleaning and skin care, the skin is no harm to change. Let’s take a look at the ways to reduce the damage of makeup to the skin.
Make-up hurts the skin or does not make up hurt the skin?
Make-up hurts the skin.
Most cosmetics are made of chemicals, there is a certain degree of damage to the skin, makeup removal is the same, the skin is also a certain degree of harm. Frequent make-up, easy to destroy the skin barrier, let the skin tolerance decreased, and cosmetics inside some of the irritating ingredients, but also let the skin appear acne, inflammation. People who wear make-up are prone to pores clogging, light-sensitive skin, contact dermatitis, etc. So makeup is not recommended frequent painting, a week or leave so a day or two without makeup, in the choice of skin care products, choose mild, can take some vitamin C in moderation. Make-up is harmful to the skin, and in order to reduce this damage, it needs to be scientifically removed. If the light makeup, cosmetics are not waterproof, that with makeup remover on it, after the removal of face wash, excessive cleaning of the skin is also a kind of injury to the skin, will make the skin become more sensitive and fragile.
It's good for skin without makeup every day?
If it’s true that make-up hurts the skin, the skin of actresses who need heavy makeup every day can’t be so good, and we ordinary people can wear makeup for much shorter time than the stars. And people who like make-up will usually pay more attention to skin care, will often apply the mask, to the skin to do a thorough clean, skin condition will be much better than people who do not pay attention to skin care. And those long-term face without makeup people generally do not pay too much attention to their skin state, often with water wash face, simple smear on the spot cream on the door, face long spots or acne may not be found in time. And make-up people because of the concealer, so the face has a little blemishes can be found quickly, and as soon as possible to find a way to deal with, so may skin condition will be better than long-term face without makeup people!
Make up method to reduce the harm of make-up to skin
Make up the simplest steps without damaging the skin:
Preparation before Makeup: first, wash your face before making up. Moisturizing cream or moisturizing lotion is the key step. Good moisturizing cream will lay a good foundation for makeup before putting on the foundation, so that the next step will not dry the skin on the face, and it will make the skin look crystal clear.
1.Isolation cream.
Many girls skip this step when they make up. In fact, this step is very important.
Step: with the bean size point on the face, smear evenly on it. It must be noted that it must not be used too much. Green and blue base milk has a good covering effect, suitable for people with spots or other defects. Purple is more suitable for Oriental yellow skin. White is more suitable for transparent makeup.
2.Foundation solution.
It’s the same way as the cream.
Step: double the amount of cream and apply it evenly on the face. Pay attention to the eyes, hair and forehead of the junction should also be daubed evenly. Otherwise others can see you make up at a glance.
3.Concealer cream or Concealer liquid.
Only for people with small facial blemishes.
Step: you can use a small brush to gently cover and around the defect. This foundation does not need to be beaten too thick. It can also cover spots and blain. Another use is to apply concealer to double brows to nose 1/3 and under the eyes. This can not only cover the dark circles, but also play a role in brightening.
4.Powder.
If the above three steps are completed, the makeup has reached the desired effect, the powder can be omitted, and the powder can be directly dispersed to achieve the effect of brightening.
Steps: gently pat the face with a powder puff, pay attention to evenly powder, and also pay attention to the exposed parts of the head should be powdered, looking more energetic, to achieve the effect of makeupP
5.Loose powder.
Step: as long as gently slap on a layer of powder can. Pay attention to the junction of the face and neck.
6.Make up of eyes.
Eyebrows: it’s important to trim the eyebrows.
Eye shadow: you can choose the collocation of colors according to different garments.
Step: pay attention to the transition of color when changing eye shadow. For example, pink eye shadow, first of all the entire orbit is coated with a layer of light powder, and then deepen in the vicinity of the eyelash. After finishing make-up, brush a layer of white powder on the eyebrow bone and nose bridge. Can achieve the effect of highlighting the three-dimensional sense.
Eyeliner: the average girl does not want to go to the eyeliner, but a good eye liner can make her eyes brighter.
Step: one way is to use eyeliner to place eyeliner in the neutral part of the eyelash. It will look more natural. The lower eyeliner can be made of white eyeliner, which can make your eyes bigger.
7. Lip modification.
Step: pay attention to the lip gloss, do not spread the whole mouth, it looks like you did not wipe after dinner. If you put lip gloss on the middle point of the lip, and then sip it, the effect will be better.
The difference between long-term make-up and never make up
Make up for a long time
1.In fact, girls who make up for a long time usually pay special attention to her skin condition. At least, the sisters who are enthusiastic about make-up are diligent in skin care every day. Every day there are good skin care girls, even if they make up for a long time, the skin condition will not be too bad. But if you often need make-up, but do not do strict skin care, even if your skin is good, some substances in cosmetics will slowly “erode” and become worse and worse. This question is also certain.
2.“Never make up”
In fact, many girls who never make up feel that their skin will become very good. Because their original skin condition is good, there is no need to worry about makeup. Therefore, the necessary skin care steps are often ignored. Then your skin must be a girl who doesn’t make up all the time and insists on skin care. Because the skin will be eroded by ultraviolet rays and dust, the skin will naturally age, and the skin will have various problems. But if you take your skin seriously and take good care of it, it must be another result. Therefore, long-term make-up and “never make up” do not directly affect the skin condition of fairies. The difference in skin condition is whether you always take care to protect your skin. If you take care of your skin, whether you make up or not, your skin can always maintain a very good state, so do not ignore skin care, can not be lazy.
In a word, as long as the face is clean enough and daily care is proper, makeup can be as you like.

Middle- and late-pregnancy dietary nutrition programs.
From the second trimester of pregnancy, the fetus enters the rapid growth and development period until birth. The uterus, mammary gland and other organs of the pregnant mother gradually increase in line with the growth of the fetus. At the same time, the mother also needs to reserve energy and nutrients for postpartum lactation. Therefore, the food intake needs to be increased in the middle and late pregnancy to meet the significantly increased nutrient demand of pregnant mothers.
There are five things that pregnant mothers need to follow in this period:
Have you all learned? Wish all mothers are safe and healthy, giving birth to healthy and lovely babies.

Fashion history lesson on “the collar”
Speaking of collars had to start with shirts, in fact, before the 15th century, the old ancestors were dressed in cooler clothes. Adam Eve was not wearing at all. In terms of fashion at the time, the embroidered armor, the inside exposed snow white and meticulous shirt collar and lotus sleeves, is the standard of the upper class. Wearing a variety of soft linen shirts and picnicking in the vast and rich estate, it was the aesthetic taste of that generation.
And the noble representative of the nobles, of course, is the legendary Queen Elizabeth I, she ah, can be said to be the face of the great generation of the face. But the beginning of the collar, is not our familiar two sharp collar, but the Queen’s neck of the kind of “shy circle” (English name is called Ruff), this kind of hundred-shaped collar, whether a gentleman or a lady can use, but of course the bigger the circle is more expensive. It was not until the latter time that the Queen suddenly wanted to be a little more delicate, and then removed the section of the chest, which turned into a half-circle of shame, and began to have the shape of two collars and neckline.
However, how ever, a single form of collar can meet the needs of the royal family, so the various tailors began to compete with each other, driving a variety of collar design. Vintage family pictures inspired this Nigerian photographer’s latest work
For his latest project, Nigerian photographer Oye Diran looked to his old family photos for inspiration. He was especially taken by the elegant clothing his parents used to wear, including his mother in classic Nigerian iro and buba style (a wrapped skirt and tailored top) — often paired with a gele (headwrap).
“I was struck by how appealing and rich these outfits looked and was reminded of how well my parents and their friends were attired when I was young,” Diran wrote over email from where he now lives in New York. “The relevance of iro and buba doesn’t dissipate over time, so I came up with this story to shed light on the beauty of my heritage to the world.”
Diran went on to research more imagery from Nigeria in the 1960s to 1980s, before recreating the same vintage feeling for “A Ti De” (“We Have Arrived”), featuring portraits of three women dancing, posing and having a good time. “Yoruba people are known to find any reason to dress up and celebrate,” he said, referring to Nigeria’s second-largest ethnic group. “Traditional weddings, for example, are an opportunity to wear your finest iro and buba, add accessories, and show out,” he said.

From the optimism that followed independence from Britain in 1960, through a devastating civil war and subsequent military coups, the period that this project draws from was a seismic and formative one for Nigeria. This was reflected in the country’s cultural landscape and ideas around dress. While Fela Kuti incited rebellion and preached pan-Africanism, Lagos’ most stylish residents mixed up local fashion with western silhouettes. This speaks to today’s Nigerian image-makers, who draw on the past to comment on neo-colonialism and redefine black beauty, such as Lakin Ogunbanwo, Ruth Ossai and Diran.

Diran originally studied business and worked in event production before finding his calling as a photographer a decade ago. He taught himself the skill and has gone on to hone a minimalist yet warm aesthetic, citing renowned West African photographers J.D. Okhai Ojeikere, Malick Sidibé and Seydou Keïta as influences. “These legends depicted the excellence of their culture. I’m inspired by the set designs, styling and conceptual poses of their portraits.”

Ojeikere’s celebrated archive documenting the intricate hairstyles and headwear of Nigerian women is echoed not only in “A Ti De,” but Diran’s ongoing series “Gele,” which captures regal matriarchs in opulent settings with elaborately tied headwraps acting as their crowns. “I began the series in 2017 as a way to interpret the symbolic meaning of geles and express the splendour of African women,” he said.

Diran’s fashion and art photos have featured in both Vogue Italia and Afropunk, and his work was included in an exhibition at the United Nations in 2018. This year, his photo “Makub,” featuring a woman’s delicate face and hands in an infinite pastel pink expanse, won a LensCulture Exposure award. “‘Maktub’ is an Arabic word meaning ‘it is written’. It is the idea that our destinies are pre-ordained but still have to be pursued,” he said.

Since it debuted in March on global African media platform Nataal, Diran has received plenty of responses to “A Ti De,” and its nostalgic appeal. “The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive from Nigerians at home and across the diaspora,” he said.
“People have expressed a sense of pride, inspiration and empowerment that the project has given them.” This ties into Diran’s wider sense of duty to create images that speak to a positive, pan-African perspective.
“I want to continue to convey the essence of African or black ideologies while breaking down misconstrued narratives of these cultures,” he said. “I want to be part of the global force illuminating the culture from a diasporic perspective. And most importantly, telling the many truths that are overlooked and more often, silenced. I feel that it is our collective responsibility as African photographers to do so.”

How to choose a suitable print dress?
How can a girl spend a good summer without a printed dress? Printed dress as a classic fashion single for girls can be said to be essential, but some little girls do not like the printing elements, think wearing printed skirts look old, watching a lot of stars wearing printed skirts very warm and generous, bright look, thinking why they wear so ugly? In fact, this is not a printing error, but some of the girls will not choose to match the print skirt. Then we’ll get a good look at the printed skirt and learn to choose the right matching dress.
The source of the printed dress
At first, women in European countries loved to wear a variety of skirts, whether it was daily life or formal activities, and there were rich women who liked to wear various patterns and patterns on them, some with lace on top of them. Printed skirt has been very hot since its introduction, because it looks simple and generous, but also very beautiful, it can be very literary, but also seems very warm and generous.
The choice of printed skirts
The choice of printed skirt can be controlled from two big directions, on the one hand, the color, on the other hand, the style. Color determines the style of the skirt, the style of clothing can determine your style of wear, these two aspects are very important.
1.The color of the printed skirt
1.1 Base
The bottom color of the skirt is very important, keep the bottom color pure and refreshing, the printed skirt looks harmonious. If the undertones are too complex and the prints are added, the dress will look complicated and look heavy and cumbersome. In general, black and white are the safest colors. With a white background, it looks clean and refreshing, and black looks elegant.
If you think black and white is too monotonous, you can also try red and blue, summer wearing this color of clothing will look enthusiastic.
1.2 Flower Size
The color of the printed skirt must match the undertone, otherwise it will appear very messy. The most important thing is the density of the print. If the print is too dense and the color is cluttered, it will be very old to wear it. So try to choose the print density is moderate, the print marks clearly recognizable skirt.
The size of the print on the wearing effect is also very big, the advice is to try not to pick large prints, because large prints in the visual above to produce a magnifying effect, it seems that people will appear fat, especially large complex printing, this skirt only very slim girls wear will look good. Small prints, with their visual shrinkage, will look slimmer. The bright-looking girl will be more suitable for the color of elegant, small printed simple skirts, will appear fresh and elegant, and the five gorgeous girls wearing large complex print swarms will be amazing.
The style of the printed skirt
1. Sling
Suitable for: shoulder and collarbone good-looking girl
Girls who are in good shape in the hot summer are eager to show off their good figure, and girls are essential to wear sling-printed skirts. The combination of slings and prints made the skirt no longer monotonous, with the long printed halter neckline looking tall and slim, green and white printed to complement the fresh and elegant, perfect for the shoulders and collarbones to look good at the people wear.
2. Off-shoulder
There are a lot of girls who don’t think their collarbones and shoulders look good, and there’s a lot of meat on their arms, and the off-shoulder design suits these girls. The printof of the dress caught the eye of others, who stopped paying attention to the rest of the body and covered the flesh on the upper arm.
3. Pleated printed dress
Choosing a long-sleeved pleated print edareon is also great, with no extra additions, and don’t worry about other things covering the beauty of the printed skirt itself. And because the line sense of the pleats makes the print on the skirt seem to come to life. But if you wear a single printed skirt must choose the color.
The matching of printed skirts
1. Sling printed skirt and T-shirt
While the sling skirt is fresh and cool, it doesn’t look good for lady with flesh on the upper body to look more thick on her shoulders. Instead of trying a solid-colored T-shirt, black and white and fleshy is best suited for a sling-printed skirt. The white top with a sling skirt has a good meat-covering effect. Meat color because very close to the skin color can be lined with people very white, so it is also very recommended choice.
2. Printed skirts and coats
Some girls are more shy, although like the print skirt but afraid to wear too exposed, this time the sling print skirt with a coat is the most appropriate, sling skirt plus coat is very warm. Because the printed skirt itself is a bit complicated, choose a simple jacket when paired with a denim jacket or a suit jacket, which will have an incredible effect when it collides with a sling.
3. Printed Skirts and Solid-Colored Tops
In fact, long-sleeved tops with printed skirts are also very good-looking, but to note the choice of the color of the jacket. The top is still more recommended to choose pure color, because the second half of the printed skirt has been the color of this piece filled very well, the top only need a little backing, will be particularly beautiful. The fusion of upper and lower body colors looks like a visual comfort, more like a breeze to look particularly refreshing.
4. Printed skirt and sandals
High-heeled sandals have always been women’s shoes of choice because they show up in the footsteps. Because the high-heeled sandals themselves will raise the height of the wearer a bit, and high-heeled sandals and printed skirts combined, not only bloom the female charm, but also increase the self-confidence of the wearer.
5. Printed Skirts and Sneakers
The sweet printed skirt and sneaker combination revealed a youthful vibe. This combination is very simple and generous, and it’s very simple to wear. You can also choose a slightly more mature print edare, plus a pair of sneakers, will look very young.

Five details of Party makeup must be observed
Carnival parties should be eye-catching, but not too exaggerated; they should be beautiful and moving, but not too tacky. Sometimes, it’s not always possible to master the propriety. With these tips in mind, it’s not hard to be a party queen!
The first taboo of Party Makeup:
imperfect base makeup
The season with many parties is the driest and most unbearable season of the year. The skin is either dry or peeled, pushed onto the foundation, and the bottom makeup is directly stuck in the dry leather. Or skin water and oil imbalance, local oil exuberant, make-up is easy to paste off, caking. But whatever the reason, the imperfect base makeup will be magnified several times under the party light! Destroy your queen image directly!
Solution:
1. Moisturizing! Moisturizing! Or moisturizing!
Moisturizing is the top priority! Don’t take it lightly every day and night! The night before the important party, you may use the oil water oil sandwich skin care method to give first aid to the skin: you can massage the skin with cream or skin care oil after washing the face, soften the skin, make the follow-up products easier to absorb; then moisturize the lotion collocation with cotton piece, gently pat the face, melt the oil that has not been absorbed completely, then continue to wipe the daily maintenance. Products, such as cream, eye cream and so on, and finally use a layer of cream containing oil ingredients to seal the previous maintenance results.
2. First aid before make-up is also very effective!
Do not stint your make-up water, makeup to come to a 5 minutes of make-up water mask, makeup effect will be more applied!
If dry skin is found before makeup, it can be first thickened with cream and then gently massage with a cotton pad. The location of the dry skin is not only treated with first aid, but also can play the role of gentle metabolism of waste horniness. The dry skin is relaxed and does not damage the skin.
The second taboo of Party Makeup:
not everyone is suitable for big red lips
In recent years, red lips seem to have become an essential part of Party makeup. However, not everyone can draw red lips! If people with thin lips draw red lips, they will appear thinner; if people with short chin, they will draw red lips, because the color is very obvious, which will make the chin look shorter in proportion; and for people with large mouth, painting red lips will also play an important role in making the mouth appear bigger! Finally, if there is a boy you like in the party, don’t draw red lips, or as soon as you speak, a big mouth of blood will make him think you are very nagging.
The third taboo of Party make-up:
fake eyelashes of seaweed piece should be given up!
Many girls don’t make up at ordinary times. Once they arrive at the party, they feel that the opportunity to make up has finally come! Make up is easy to get thick. False eyelashes like seaweed are most likely to appear at this time. But little do not know, too thick false eyelashes, will block your eyes, on the contrary, will make your eyes appear big and inanimate, lost the spirit of dynamic. If you really want to change your eyelashes and make them curly and dense for a party, you can try wearing a pair of fake eyelashes or transparent stems. It will be more natural and effective than seaweed.
The fourth taboo of Party make-up:
too much bright powder, deep flash ball!
Bright powder used well, can play a role in brightening and enhancing look, but not good is a disaster! In particular, many girls like to paint party makeup, all the glitter on the face ~ this will really make you become the most “dazzling” flash ball on the party.
Remember: 1. Eyebrow bone must not polish powder! That’s the way people used to make up in Ancient times! 2. If it’s not a masquerade party or a magazine blockbuster, don’t cover your entire upper eyelids with powder. At the end of the day, you can use your finger pulp to put a light powder in the center of your eye, which can help you increase the flexibility. 3. In places where there is a lot of meat, don’t use bright powder to brighten it. It will show more meat. 4. In proportion, the long and wide position should not be used again. It will appear longer and wider.
The fifth taboo of Party make-up:
makeup was ruin makes you become a panda
The party atmosphere is warm and the temperature is soaring. When you are happy, don’t forget to sneak to the bathroom to see your make-up! To be honest, there are no cosmetics that won’t make you dizzy. There are such things. What do you need to remove makeup? So diligent in make-up, is to maintain the perfect makeup! The place where things often happen is now. Eyelid out of oil, eyelashes slap on the eyelids, it is easy to faint into panda eyes. Solution, in addition to makeup before the choice of anti – dizzy dyed mascara, party in the small bag placed a few cotton sticks, the key moment also can help you play a big role! As long as the cotton stick is rolling gently at the moment, the mascara on the eyelids can be easily removed.

These habits can keep your home clean for 365 days
It is said that the home is clean, the financial luck is boom! But we can’t do it every day to clean the whole house, so it will be long and hard. “Cleaning Immediately ” is a quick and effective way to keep your home clean for lazy bones.
First of all, we must follow these two points:
Avoid inadvertently creating “dirty things” and block ingress from the source.
The same is true of “dirty things”, so stop them from gathering.
Where did the dirt come from? It's where to start.
The first is the entrance. The entrance is the home of the “border guards”, to protect the home from the invasion of the outside world dirty things. So be sure to keep it clean here. In line with the entrance closer to the indoor area, the cleaner the principle, so that pollution gradually reduced.
Increasing the sink at the door is becoming more and more necessary in home design. Enter the door to change shoes – wash hands – change clothes, such a process can allow themselves to “sterile” into the home, but also to keep the home clean, to prevent external bacteria.
There is a clear dividing line between the entrance and the interior. For example, Japan’s home sinking entrance, can avoid dust, sand particles into the home.
The most routine approach is to use the floor mat to prevent dirt, good floor mats can really dust, gravel and other dirty things left on it, so that it is easy to clean the ground. Generally into the bottom of the area are the use of wire technology, such a better material “scratch the soil”, but also self-absorbing vacuum.
Overall, the mission of the entrance: to get yourself dirty and clean at home. With such a self-cleaning pass, you won’t bring dirt into the house, thereby reducing cleaning.
When we finished handling the door, we went to the window. The screen window at home is also a boundary between the outside world and the home, can block the outside world’s small dirty things. According to the life experience, the screen window is not clean, blowing into the home of the wind are with dust. A long time, dust accumulation into more, more trouble.
So, once and two weeks, the screen is cleaned once and two weeks, the dust in all parts of the home is less, the dust-absorbing housework is reduced, but also to save electricity costs (it seems that all kinds of things are linked, so do the housework). This similar screen cleaning brush is good to use.
The boundary area of the bathroom and outside the bathroom, the kitchen and outside the kitchen is also a place where dirt is easily contaminated. Water and stains in the bathroom are brought into the room with the soles of the shoes. The smoke and stains in the kitchen will also be brought into the room with the soles of the shoes, so that the floor will be dirty quickly.
Therefore, the floor mat is very useful, out of the bathroom, in the bottom mat on a slug, dirt can be less than a. Or put a pair of shoes in the bathroom or kitchen for a change.
Summary: Preventing dirt from spreading around the home does a lot of good things for cleaning. Anything, once dispersed, is not easy to take care of, cleaning is the same.
Sweep around, stop stains from becoming stubborn
Kitchen
The kitchen is easy to accumulate smoke, a long time, it formed a sticky heavy oil;
Therefore, to the heavy oil-stained areas are still in the construction phase to give them “eliminate.”
No matter how big the smoke is cooking, frying or soup, you have to drive on the smoke machine to smoke ah, until 3 minutes after cooking, you can close. In this way, the smoke will not run to every corner of the kitchen, or even the whole home.
We should understand that the molecular movement of gases is the fastest, so let the fumes suck them up quickly.
Using kitchen cleaners to remove stains is a common method. To deal with stubborn stains on the “smouldering it”, can also be understood as “face mask method”: the detergent sprayed on the oil contamination, and then put a layer of cling film or plastic bags, still for a period of time, and then clean it off, it is not so laborious.
In addition to oil, it is water stains. Water stains are formed in the accumulation of time, if the kitchen ventilation is not good, and often use the “drying” way, you will find the kitchen walls, roofwill inexplicably have some yellow stains, that is water stains.
If washed up with water beads of the bowl chopsticks directly into the cabinet, a long time, will also find water stains in the inside of the cabinet silently produced.
To avoid this phenomenon, we recommend manually drying the water on the chopsticks, pots, etc. Or use a drain basket to place and dry the tableware, so that cleaning the drain basket is much easier than cleaning the inside of the cabinet.
If you feel your own cabinet because of the material, it is not good to clean. Can be placed in a layer of “oil-proof waterproof stickers”, can protect the cabinet material, but also convenient for cleaning. PS: water stains are not difficult to clean, afraid of water mixing stains together.
Bathrooms
Bathrooms are also hard hit by stains, especially water stains. First of all, we recommend that the bathroom is large and small items, as far as possible on the wall and hidden. This way the dirt won’t hide, and cleaning is easy. Ready to decorate friends, want to stay after no cleaning trouble, how to achieve bathroom 0 cleaning? Up the wall! All on the wall!
Cleaning in the bathroom is very convenient (can’t be lazy!) ). Like ……
After washing, the pool around or even the mirror is water stains, this time can wipe the mirror, the pool, will not cause the mirror is watermark and the pool inside the dirty phenomenon. (This is important)
The dirt in the pool is formed by the dirt on the surface, mixed with scale, etc. Choose a good material basin, dirt is not easy to remain on it, but also reduce cleaning trouble.
If the pool is made of ceramic, we mainly look at the glaze and water absorption rate. The quality of the glaze is related to the pollution resistance, high-quality glaze “honeycomb” very small, smooth and dense, not easy to dirty, generally do not use the use of strong decontamination products, clean water and wipe good.
If you choose enamel pool, generally not easy to hang dirty, but also very good cleaning. However, pay attention to such materials, to avoid sharp items, avoid high temperature.
After a bath, by the way to clean the bathroom floor and walls, you can also avoid dirt. Because every bath, scale will be a large number of production, fell to the ground, walls and other places, this time we hand-to-hand wipe off the “invisible scale”, later in the bathroom can not see the yellow has grown stronger scale.
Bathroom cleaner, we recommend universal soda, really super-good use, can wipe the bathroom light.
Summary: immediately clean can avoid the “dirt grow stronger”, while the dirt is still weak, quickly eliminate them, there is no worries.
Dirt will also accumulate into more, dirt will also become stronger variation. Therefore, cleaning is really necessary right away, labor-saving and worry-saving, don’t be lazy. Learned to clean every day, say goodbye to the whole house cleaning!

For funky and age-reducing, try “retro hairpins”
Every year, there will be a good-looking hair brush boom circle of friends, after all, for girls, fashion is not simply to put on clothes, hair and makeup are also important. At this time, I think of last year’s colorful hairpin with fire. Isn’t this hairpin full of hair that was used when I was a kid? I didn’t expect this kind of “retro card” to be popular until this year.
There are still many popular hair accessories this year, such as lovely butterfly hair, with pink and tender colors and makeup of pink and tender bulingbulign, are they very sweet and lovely like Barbie dolls.
When it comes to “retro hairpin”, this cute baby hairpin can’t be less. Isn’t the colorful hairpin cute, but it’s a little naive for a mature girl, but it’s such a naive hairpin that has exploded the circle of friends for several years. If you want to be fashionable, try “retro hairpin”. You can’t underestimate this cute and childish hairpin.
Retro hairpin
In fact, the “retro hairpin” can catch fire because of the retro style in the fashion circle, followed by the rise of childhood style and even Grandma style hairpin. Although the design looks a little outdated, it has to be said that it is really beautiful.
How popular is “retro hairpin”? Many fashion brands, such as Chanel, Gucci and so on, have launched “vintage hairpin”, and the classic design has attracted numerous trendsetters. The cycle of fashion has always existed.
Pearl hairpin
In the past, when it comes to pearls, most people really dislike them all over their faces, because in the impression, pearls are the ornaments that elder people will wear. Noble spirit is very noble, but they also look a little old-fashioned and can’t match the young and lovely “Little Fairy”. But after seeing the design of Pearl this year, it’s really beautiful, especially the Pearl hairpin.
With the Pearl hairpin entering the show of major brands, looking at the models wearing the Pearl hairpin are full of Fairy Spirit. The Pearl hairpin, which had been labeled “old-fashioned” all the time, suddenly becomes advanced, and also makes the modeling more eye-catching.
To know that pearl itself is a very gentle single, low-key luster will show women’s softness and delicacy, but where there are pearl single products, there will never be a low sense of existence. In the past, everyone had a big misunderstanding about pearl.
In the past, the Pearl single product was a little old-fashioned, but the Pearl hairpin was a very small girl’s single product. It made a kind of messy aesthetic feeling when it was clamped on the head, and it also had some Fairy Spirit in its playfulness.
I suggest that when choosing the Pearl hairpin, the size of the Pearl should be properly matched so as to highlight the lazy atmosphere. The same size of the Pearl hairpin does not have that feeling.
Dripping hairpin
Bling blign’s Dripping hairpin always gives people a “old-fashion” feeling, but when the Dripping hairpin is clipped on the head, the effect is surprising. Even a sexy girl like Kim Hyun A becomes a gentle little woman at the same time. In fact, this kind of single product can match with the desired fashion sense without any design. Only by keeping the fresh feeling of the shape, can it have a girl’s feeling.
In fact, at the beginning of the fashion of driving hairpin, it was also popular with fashion brands. It’s very unique to directly post the brand logo on hairpin. Such driving hairpin really makes people feel fresh.
This logo’s driving hairpin design, delicate and small, has a kind of handsome feeling, with sweet collocation or cool style can be very good-looking.
Color hairpin
What stars like most is this kind of childish color hairpin. It doesn’t choose skin color and style, and it’s full of vitality when it comes to age reduction.
Who would have thought that ¥2 could buy a bag of color hairpins that year, which attracted numerous fashion bloggers and stars, and became a very popular single in the fashion circle. Wearing one is not enough to attract people’s attention. You must wear it on a large area to have a strong sense of existence and a sense of street.
Metal hairpin
As a cool girl, I prefer this kind of metal hairpin. It’s usually a simple design, but full of personality. You only need to wear one to make your shape look different. You can also choose the metal hairpin with a strong sense of design, which makes the street feel more full, but it must be small and exquisite to match with other accessories, so that there will be no conflict between the pieces.
The baroque style metal hairpin full of retro feeling is the love of the show models. It looks simple but also has a gorgeous feeling. Basically, wearing such hairpin will not make mistakes, and the high-level sense will stand out. This style of metal hairpin, and dark hair color match the most suitable, really very temperament.
If you don’t want too exaggerated metal hairpin, this small metal hairpin is also suitable for wearing. If you clip it on your head alone or in a row on your head, you can not only fix the broken hair, but also concave it in the way. It’s simple and low-key, but it doesn’t feel mediocre.
If ordinary people wear this kind of metal hairpin, they are worried that the exaggerated design is not enough for daily control. Such a small metal hairpin is very good. Although it’s smaller, it’s not monotonous to wear it on the head with a little different design decoration, and it’s a little cool, especially fashionable and good-looking.

This article for you to collect some tips on the cooling in the wear, if interested, follow us to watch!
]]>We’re waiting, we’re waiting for summer and warmth – but it’s not just the warmth that’s coming, the heat coming! How to cool myself away from the air conditioner?
This article for you to collect some tips on the cooling in the wear, if interested, follow us to watch!
1. Choose modern fabrics: lyocell and modal
We’re used to the best heated fabric being linen. According to the “official” rules, linen cannot be ironed – but we are sometimes perfectionists, sometimes ironing linen every night 🙂
The relatively new name of the organization – lyocell, modal – is questionable. What if it’s synthetic? No, these are modern environmental lyse. They are made of natural wood, which perfectly passes through the air and absorbs moisture, and the sliding lyocell cool the skin well.
2.Handbag
If you put your backpack or school bag on your shoulder, your clothes are too tight. For you, it can even get hotter, and the wet stains will remain on the fabric – and may even be dyed.
3. Replace jewelry with sunglasses
Wearing jewelry at high temperatures is not pleasant and sometimes unsafe: it’s hard to remove a ring or bracelet. Warm, moist skin oxidizes jewelry, which loses its luster. Let’s focus on sunglasses
Important: This is not only a fashion detail, sunglasses can even prevent heat stroke.
4. Cool your legs
We’re used to “keeping our feet warm” and sometimes even wear ingenuity sneakers in high temperatures. But the natural state of the foot is slightly cooler than the body temperature. Keep this in mind when you’re a kid: Worrying about the cool legs of your parents and grandmothers and excess socks are often the cause of overheating!
At high temperatures, it’s especially important to make shoes that fit your size perfectly – otherwise it increases the risk of corn and wear.
5.Wider, airy costume design
If your work environment requires you to wear business suit pants, loose design must be the best selling item in summer. Because the loose line design makes the whole pants more easy to flow air, if it is changed into a dress, the effect is better.

“Remember, I’m the oldest teenager in the world.”

If you want to know her, keep reading (:
]]>Those who are familiar with the world of fashion and jewelry can’t help but know this hot person:)
Today, I would like to review some encouraging facts in her life, as well as her romantic and philosophical quotes.
If you can describe it in a few words, iris is a romantic romanticist for me.
Light.
Strong elasticity.
love your life.
Love color.
Love people: everyone is beautiful to her.
When you look at people and the world in this way, everything will come true.
Has she had the opportunity to grow up in art and fashion since she was a child?
Her family was not poor, but her childhood was the cruelest of the great depression.
What did her mother say to support a girl who wanted to dress well?
Buy a black tuxedo, you’ll always wear something.
Iris changed her dress by wearing a small black dress with scarves and jewelry.
When she met unimaginable light, she met her future husband.
In all the years of a happy marriage (nearly 70 years), they are surprised, happy and supportive.
Her husband has lived for more than a hundred years – what other arguments are needed to support a lot of jewelry?
But seriously, the couple created the whole industry all their lives.
Iris has come up with the best fabrics for fashion companies, although she has sketched for herself from the beginning – another argument that supports the fact that you need to do what you like and “do it for yourself.”.
Iris asked one of the best museums in the world to exhibit a collection of jewelry and souvenirs – another argument that supports the fact that you can wake up. However, you need to “work for yourself” and sincerely bring happiness to your beloved career.
What does iris say?
I’m a real romantic. I’ve never bought anything for something of value. My husband said I looked at a piece of cloth and listened to the line. They told me the story. They sang to me. I have to have a physical reaction when I shop.
Like iris – even a cold can be creative:)
Like iris – your portrait will be a masterpiece of meme and Pop Art:)
I’m colored. If I don’t try, I’ll never be famous. I like big bags. My glasses are too big to fit in a small handbag.
Like iris – Barbie will give you:)
I haven’t changed my style for 70 years.
My thoughts have not changed my appearance.
Now everyone around me is dancing and jumping, as if I were a star.
Remember, I’m the oldest teenager in the world.
If someone doesn’t like my job, it’s their problem, not mine.
If you feel uncomfortable, it won’t look right, no matter how well you dress. I prefer happiness and comfort.
More is more, less is boring.
Today, you need to be confident in yourself, or you won’t be able to do it. And fantasy is what the modern world lacks. Fantasy is a very, very powerful phenomenon.
I do everything by instinct. If I think too much, there is nothing.
If the hair is tied and the shoes are good, you can wear them anywhere.
I always think jazz is a kind of improvisation. In terms of structure, it follows the same principles as interior decoration and clothing design: rhythm, high and low mixing, national pattern and classic elements interwoven.
You can buy fashion. But style is a natural feeling. The main key is to learn to understand yourself, which may take several years.
When you get older, you need to force yourself forward, or you will fall into a trap and start to crash. Stay active and keep you busy – it’s important.
I’m happy because I can do what I like in my 90 year old life.
I don’t like trends. I like traditions.
My husband Carl is very lucky. I’m not attracted to diamonds.
Our values, political views and tastes are the same.
He knows how to do a lot of things I can’t do, we can complement each other together.
He is charming, caring, pleasant to communicate, friendly and even able to cook.
What else does a girl need to be happy? But most of all, he always knows how to make me laugh.
You know, I look like a hooligan, but in terms of marriage, I’m old-fashioned, like high heels.
I never rebelled and didn’t want to offend anyone.
The main thing for me is that my mother shouldn’t be upset because of me, and my husband will be happy.
They even told me that I changed someone’s life!
I think: if I try to influence her, what kind of miserable life does this baby live.
Let me add to this: when I see a picture of iris of a boy suffering from albinism, I have a deeper understanding of how important it is for us to accept ourselves, the difference from the standard and personal beauty.
Make a difference!
I feel like I’m doing my part to liberate women. They understand that they have absolutely no obligation to look like everyone else, let alone think like everyone else. This idea makes me happy. Isn’t that the biggest reward?
I never thought about my age. Maybe that’s the secret. I didn’t think about years – I just went through their lives. Age is just a number.
I also realized that work was like medicine to me. I love my work and am committed to it.
So what? You start to fall, but then pack up, straighten and move on. You may not like to grow old, but what are your options? You are still here, very happy! Invest in your work experience and share with others what you can give them.
Find a partner who is happy for your success.
‘anyone who meets him knows he’s a real gentleman,’ iris Apfel said of his husband, Karl.
Legends of his generosity and sense of humor spread. We finished almost all the work together. He encouraged and supported me, which made it possible for my book to be published. He pushed me to the public and enjoyed my success. He has much more fun from my achievements and awards than I have.
I miss him very much. Good sleep, handsome prince!
If there is anything that can make your heart beat faster, do it!
I never thought that people would know me personally and know my name. I didn’t expect it to be called a style icon. I don’t think the museum will show my clothes and accessories in the exhibition. I didn’t expect to be the face of a ponytail cover girl or a cosmetics company in the ’90s.
I didn’t expect that. I’m just gifted with something, and I do what I feel. If something sounds interesting and impressive – I did it, but I was worried later. It takes a lot of energy and perseverance to do new things. It’s exhausting to create new things, learn new skills and overcome fear. Most people would prefer to let it go, which is much easier. But it’s not that interesting!
To keep young, you want to be young!
As an old friend of mine said, when you grow up, you will wake up in the morning. If you have two arms, two legs, two eyes, two ears and two kidneys, it is likely that at least one of each pair of things will be injured. But in spite of the pain, you still have to get up and move forward. If you want to stay young, you have to act like a young person thinking.
Ability to be surprised, sense of humor and curiosity – this is my supplement! It keeps me young, almost a child, open to new friends and new things, ready to take risks. I never wanted to be an old wallet. I keep my own record, I’m the biggest teenager now, and I intend to move on in the same way.
Focus on your own ideas, better than anyone else
I never tried to please everyone. That doesn’t mean I’m a rebel or have done something socially unacceptable, but I realized early on that in order to ensure myself, I need to be myself.
If you try to be everyone, and for everyone, it ends up being nobody and nobody needs you. For people who need to tag everything, but for me, my style may look “different” or “weird.”. I didn’t dress up as a star, but as myself. When you wear clothes that are different from everyone else, you may not think like everyone else.
However, it's not worth isolating yourself from society
There is another side to the coin: I am not an island, I am a part of a common whole. I adapt to society in my own way. I’ve never followed the rules in anything, and now, when I’m over 90, that doesn’t make me feel uncomfortable, so I think I’ve done everything right.
But if you don’t try to adapt to society, you won’t see success. Your ideas may not be good for you. First meet expectations, then make a difference. There is a huge difference between being noticed for your originality, even loved by it, and being rejected for its innovation.
Money can't buy success
If you are happy, find your love, surround yourself with good people, do what you like, and give a part of yourself to others – that’s success. Selling souls in money is not worth the actual price you have to pay. For me anyway.
Money can't buy style
The style is not to wear expensive clothes. You can have all the money in the world and have absolutely no taste. You can wear the latest haute couture, ten thousand dollar shoes with expensive jewelry on them, and look like a Christmas tree.
The point is not what you wear, but how you wear it. I spent three dollars on bracelets and expensive things, and I got a lot of fun out of them. I like to mix haute couture with simple things, and collect expensive and cheap elements into a whole. The spirit of things is very important to me, not the price. When you try to “own style”, you look clumsy, like a heavy burden to put on a suit for yourself, it seems that your things enter the room earlier than yourself. When you worry too much about appearance, even if you choose your clothes properly, they will not look dignified. It’s better than a happy dress!
New challenges can be met in a small step.
You will lose only if you don’t try! I never worry about not achieving because I’m a woman. I started a textile company and learned how to manage it. If I think too much before opening up the old world weavers, I may never realize my dream. Sometimes, even in small steps, you have to start doing something. Based on the results of my 90 year tour of the earth, I can say that I used this philosophy in everything I did and the way I dressed, and she never let me down.
Don't pretend to be younger than you are
There is nothing wrong with wrinkles. When you get older, it’s foolish to try to look much younger. You won’t cheat anyone. When you are 75 years old and undergoing plastic surgery, no one will still believe that you are 30 years old.
According to fashion business magazine, iris Apfel is among the 500 most influential people in the global fashion industry.
My secret is simple: I only wear the clothes I like.
I never go to the store to buy a complete set of clothes.
I bought something I like, and when it’s time to form an image and combine very different elements, I’ll finish the task quickly. Of course, clothing is important to me, but it doesn’t take me all the time.
In my life, I do a lot of things, sometimes I don’t even have the chance to think about what I will wear today.
Iris barrel Apfel was born in Queens (New York, USA) on August 29, 1921. He is the family of an American businessman. The owner of a fashion shop is a company that provides glass and mirror products to interior designer Samuel barrer, as well as a Russian immigrant.
Thank you for all the power, color and inspiration!
It’s like iris – even gloves.
I have a lot of cooperation with museums, hospitals, universities.
I like to go to the museum without thinking about my clothes. When I’m in a bad mood, I put on ordinary sweaters and jeans. I started wearing them in my forties.
I was one of the first women in the United States to wear jeans. For a long time I had to buy men because women didn’t know how to produce. In 1940, I was at the University of Wisconsin, and I really wanted to wear a pair of jeans with a big scarf. I had to go to the navy uniform store. Then all the workers are so huge that they can easily cut down a tree like cartoon characters.
Of course, the size of jeans I buy in the store can’t be a priori. Indeed, when the saleswomen heard why I came here, they quickly drove me out of the door. But then I found a suitable size. Start with that.
I feel very lucky to know iris. I felt her passion for life and I was inspired by it. Indeed, I was influenced by her. Compared with my own mentality and life, I may be getting better. If you like iris, you can leave your message in the comment area and let us know what you think.
I wish you have a nice day.

The 1940s continue to be a fascinating decade, as the the world was at war and the effects of the depression still lingering around the world, as it was in America.
That caused women to look at life from that perspective, and consequently their makeup look expressed the time period and the effects of the war and economic depression on people.
Since many people look back at that period of time as being classically beautiful in regard to women, it’s interesting to see how the focus on simplicity and natural beauty created such a compelling look for the women of that part of history.
Sometimes we may say that less is more, and that makeup style surely represented how women looked in the 1940s. And to this day it continues to be one of the more appreciative times concerning the way women looked and made themselves up.
Makeup Features from the 1940s
It was already mentioned how the times dictated a simplicity in looks for women of the 1940s, but that doesn’t mean the results weren’t extraordinary, because they were.
Because many of the more well known Hollywood starlets of the 1940s had a tremendous impact on the look of women of that period, it’s worthwhile looking at exactly how they looked to get an overview of the times.
If there is one word that described the facial makeup of the 1940s, it would be natural, as everything was worked out from there.
The primary focus of the starlets was on the lush, red lips and gorgeous eyelashes. That stood out all the more because of the understating of the skin tone, which was usually a shade darker than their normal skin tone. This allowed the red lips to stick out in a way that wasn’t too obvious, which a lighter skin tone would have produced.
Once the darker shade was applied, powder was applied to the face to give a sense of a natural glow to it. Flawless skin was one of the goals of the makeup of that era.
Another part of the natural look of the times was the brows, which while looking natural, included an arch to them, which were much fuller than the pencil-thin brows we see today.
As for the eyes, the overall look was dependent on whether it was for day or night. Most of the glamorous starlets of the period are seen with those gorgeous doe eyes, which were the look used by women for the evening hours.
For the day hours, natural and minimalist was the way most regular women wore their eyes. Brown or grey were the primary colors used for eye shadow then.
Lips were covered in shades of red, with a full look the most desired of all.
Most of what we think of for lipstick of the 1940s was in regard to the actresses usually seen in the evening hours, which was predominated by darker and glamorous red hues; creating the soft, full look we’re so familiar with. The upper lip was usually filled out more to create the look of those times.
Interestingly, nails of the 1940s were done differently than most are done today, with the body of the nail filled in, but the base and tip of the nail being left natural.
Gloria DeHaven in 1940s Makeup
Possibly the most viewed makeup look of the 1940s is of this photo of the beautiful actress Gloria DeHaven. It’s definitely worth showing again, as it displays the look of the 1940s in a very accurate and accomplished manner.
It has everything the 1940s makeup look should have, including the arched brows, doe eyes, perfect complexion, slightly rosy cheeks, and the full, red lipstick. It doesn’t get much better than that, although it’s unfair to women to try to emulate this beauty.
But for the 1940s style, it’s everything that represented the era. You can see why it was so popular.
After seeing Gloria’s look here, everything else is going to be more or less a repeat of the features included in her 1940s makeup, but because of different bone structure, hair, and styles, it’s worthwhile taking a look at how other women applied makeup consistent with that era.
Classic 1940s Look
In this photo it shows me what the average woman of the 1940s would look like in general as to makeup style.
The major difference would be the application of a little more red on the cheeks than most women would have. Cheeks of most women were indeed rosy, but they were usually a little more subtle than shown here.
But the eyebrows and eyes are perfect for the period.

It's getting colder and colder. All the people who can come out to meet are life and death friends. All the people who can come out to work are outlaws. All the people who can come out to date are true love. The sun is not called the sun, but the light in the refrigerator
In this harsh environment, we not only suffer from life's critical attack, but also suffer from unstable skin condition every day. Life also seems to open the hard mode, of which skin problem is the first.
In winter, the metabolism of human body is slow, the secretion of sebaceous glands and sweat glands is reduced, and the skin is in a dry and thirsty state. In addition, the temperature of the air-conditioning room is higher and the outdoor temperature is lower. The temperature difference causes the "abnormal" contraction of skin capillaries, which leads to skin pain, dry itching, red blood, acne, etc. Those sisters who "rush to seek medical treatment" and whether your skin care moves are "revenge" or "mouth gun", it's 2020, time to wake up!
Today, the editor will take you to check and correct the skin care mistakes that are easy to appear in the next winter, so as to help your skin survive the winter safely.
Myth : too cold to wash your face with hot water?
It is warm to wash your face with hot water in a cold day, but if you wash your face with hot water for a long time, the activities of sebaceous glands and sweat glands will be strengthened, which will stimulate the tension of the skin, and the skin will become dry, fragile, more sensitive, and prone to wrinkles. In addition, hot water can also make pores and blood vessels dilate, weaken the vitality of blood vessel wall, reduce skin elasticity, and weaken skin elasticity.
In fact, cold water is not very recommended, because although there is a saying that cold water washing can exercise the cold resistance of the skin and enhance the body's resistance. But cold water wash face is not easy to thoroughly clean the skin, easy to lead to oil and dirt residues in the skin.
Beauty experts pointed out that for facial maintenance, the best wash water should be warm water, 34 ℃ is the best.
Myth : the same set of skin care products in winter and summer?
The skin is composed of epidermis, dermis and subcutaneous tissue. The epidermis is is composed of cuticle layer, spine layer and basal layer from outside to inside. This kind of skin structure is synthesized to make corresponding adjustment according to the change of external environment, and plays the role of defense against the invasion of chemicals, bacteria, etc. However, the inevitable internal aging caused by the growth of age makes the adjustment and protection functions gradually passivated. So in different seasons, we need to adjust the types of skin care products according to the actual situation.
In summer, due to the secretion of sebaceous glands and sweat glands, the excretion function is vigorous, while the face is oily and sweaty, which is easily stimulated by dust and dirt, blocking and causing inflammation such as folliculitis (acne, acne). Therefore, it is necessary to keep the skin clean and dry the facial oil with a paper towel when going out. This season's skin care products, oil control, refreshing, protection is the key word, non sensitive muscles can even consider skin care products containing trace alcohol ingredients to assist anti-inflammatory toner.
In the cold winter, the secretion of sebaceous glands decreased, which made the skin lose luster and dry. Dry skin needs not only oil, but also water. At this time, we need to focus on some high moisturizing ingredients to help moisturize the skin, some skin friendly oils to help the skin form a protective film, and some fermentation ingredients to help resist pollution, and try to avoid alcohol and other irritant ingredients.

Gold has always been a symbol of nostalgia. If you add gold to the accessories, then the glasses are the retro compass of the whole shape. The swaying golden chain not only attracts attention, but also exudes a strong retro trend. If gold feels too rich for money, you can choose silver. Or simply abandon the metal texture and choose a chain with white shells. Are there any glasses you like in this article? Choose your favorite glasses and let us know in the comments below.

Tips on dressing: the most concerned about shopping in the new season is what is popular in the current season, which models can promote you to be a fashion celebrity, and which models can make you fall into the outdated and outdated queue. Today, I would like to share with you some tips on dressing and matching.
Tips 1:
Avoid wearing skirts with hard materials, because the quality is too thick and hard, which will make people look bloated. And it can let you skillfully wear elegant retro style.
Tip 2:
Avoid wearing a puffed up skirt. Choose A-line skirt or a skirt that swings with body movements, such as pleated skirt and round skirt.
Tip 3:
The lines are concentrated on the chest, which can have a high effect. The lines of the cloth belt concentrated on the chest are very prominent, that is to say, even the dress with more pleats can look slim.
Tip 4:
Don't wear a shirt and silk scarf with the same pattern on a patterned top. Striped or patterned tops need to be matched with plain pants. When two coats are worn inside and outside, it's better to match the same color or large contrast in color to have a better look.
Tip 5:
The height of shoes should be suitable, which can make you look graceful. But if the heel is more than 10 cm, it will destroy the balance of the body and the proportion of clothes, but it is not beautiful.
